Policies

  1. Lessons are at the same time each week. We can’t reschedule lessons for different times each week.

  2. Lessons run during term times. Please check the the ‘term dates’ page for specific dates (more-or-less school term times)

  3. After your trial lesson, all lessons are paid monthly in advance. Please pay via the emailed link.

  4. We try to be as flexible as possible. If you miss a lesson and give 24 hours notice, we can take it off next month’s bill. However, you can only do this once per term. Further cancellations within that term will be billed as normal.

  5. If you cancel a lesson on the day of the lesson (or just don’t show up), that lesson will be billed as normal.

  6. If you cancel a lesson but want to make it up on a different day that week, you can do so at the discretion of your tutor. Keep in mind that they may not have a slot free that suits.

  7. If you want to stop lessons, we’d appreciate if you could give us 2 weeks’ notice so that we have a good chance of filling that slot for your tutor.

We try to be as flexible as possible for our students while still being fair to our tutors. Our cancellation policy is more relaxed than most other music schools, many of which charge for an entire term up-front and offer no credits for missed lessons. We do not operate like a hairdresser, for example, where clients book in as-and-when they want. Students book in for weekly or fortnightly lessons and attend more-or-less during school term-times. Therefore, by taking lessons you are occupying a slot which is blocked off and denied to other potential students.
